Labels and templates

Labels come in two scopes: workspace labels, shared across every team, and team labels, specific to one team. They’re managed separately — Settings → Tasks → Labels for workspace labels, and a team’s own Labels settings page for its team labels — and a scope switcher lets you jump between them.

To apply a label, open a task and use its Labels section. The label picker searches both your workspace’s labels and your task’s team labels, and lets you create a new one on the spot if nothing fits.

This is separate from project labels, which tag projects rather than tasks — see Projects and milestones.

A task template pre-fills a new task’s title, description, priority, labels, assignee, and any custom fields. Create one from Settings → Tasks → Templates. When you create a task, you can pick a saved template and it fills in those fields for you — you can still edit anything before saving.

Project templates, at Settings → Projects → Templates, let you save a name, description, and a list of starter tasks for future reuse. There’s no way yet to apply a project template when creating a new project — every new project starts blank, and you add tasks afterward.
